Nürnberg - The star of this year’s holiday season is a drink that’s just as enjoyable in the summer. We’re talking about Sarti. But in this version, there are no ice cubes.

For many, Sarti is the go-to drink of summer. This pink liqueur is mixed with sparkling wine and soda water, then served with ice cubes and a straw. The flavor of Sicilian blood orange, mango, and passion fruit, rounded off by a subtle tart note, practically tastes like a holiday in a glass. Because Sarti Spritz is less bitter than the Aperol Spritz, it has won many fans.

But the drink isn’t just a hit on hot days; with a special twist, it also makes the perfect winter beverage during the Christmas season.

The ingredients for three cups:

- 100 milliliters of Sarti Rosa

- 250 milliliters of white wine (preferably dry)

- 200 milliliters of unfiltered apple juice

- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

- 2 tablespoons of mulled wine spice or mulled wine syrup

Anyone who wishes can slice a blood orange both for serving and during preparation, allowing the slices to simmer along as a flavor enhancer. It is important to ensure the mixture doesn’t turn out too bitter in the end. Cinnamon sticks are also perfect for decorating the cup.

The preparation:

Preparing Hot Sarti is very simple. All the ingredients go into a pot and are gently heated. It is important that the mixture does not boil! Once it’s warm, it can be served in cups or glasses. For those who wish, the drink can be garnished with a slice of blood orange and a cinnamon stick.

To make this festive beverage an eye-catching highlight, edible glitter in silver or gold can be purchased and half a teaspoon added to each cup. This way, the drink not only tastes delightful, but also looks beautiful.
