Bamberg/Fürth - From February 2 commuters traveling between Bamberg and Nuremberg will face disruptions. The S1 line and several regional trains will be affected. In the evenings, bus services will partially replace the trains.

Commuters on the railway line between Nuremberg and Bamberg should expect disruptions starting February 2nd. The cause is construction work on the section between Bamberg and Fürth. According to Deutsche Bahn, the S1 as well as Regional trains 14, 19, and 29 are affected. The work will continue until February 8th.

During this period, some trains will be completely canceled in the late evenings and occasionally early mornings, or travel times will be altered. To compensate for the canceled services, a rail replacement bus service will be provided between Fürth and Bamberg. Deutsche Bahn has compiled the train cancellations and departure times for the replacement buses here.

The affected stations are Bamberg, Strullendorf, Hirschaid, Buttenheim, Eggolsheim, Forchheim (Oberfr) Nord, Forchheim (Oberfr), Kersbach, Baiersdorf, Bubenreuth, Erlangen, Erlangen Paul-Gossen-Straße, Erlangen-Bruck, Eltersdorf, Vach, and Fürth (Bay) Hbf.

Deutsche Bahn also recommends checking for last-minute changes before traveling via the DB Navigator or at bahn.de. Additionally, the S2 and S3 lines will operate on a revised schedule in the second half of January due to construction work.
