Bad Kissingen - Perched on the banks of the Saale River for over a century, the Fürstenhof in Bad Kissingen - a historic landmark - is now up for sale.

In November, the company Christie & Co announced that it had been commissioned by the owner of the Fürstenhof in Bad Kissingen to handle the sale of the historic building. According to its own statements, Christie & Co is a leading real estate expert.

The property covers a total of 17,000 square meters and boasts a history spanning more than 160 years. Originally built as a spa hotel in 1856, the Fürstenhof hosted "guests from European high nobility and the upper bourgeoisie," the company reports.

Only ten years after its construction, the building was destroyed during the Battle of Kissingen in 1866. After the war, the Fürstenhof was rebuilt and expanded several times. Since 1906, it has served as both a private sanatorium and a hotel.

“The location and history of this property are unique - this is an opportunity to create something truly special,” emphasizes Ina Sobotta, Senior Consultant Investment & Letting at the company handling the sale. “The possibilities for positioning range from a traditional hotel operation to a medical spa and even specialized health resorts with apartment buildings,” Sobotta explains. The company anticipates strong interest from potential buyers.

Currently, it cannot be disclosed whether there are already interested parties or concrete inquiries, Sobotta tells the editorial team. Typically, a sale takes between six and nine months to complete. However, the market is particularly dynamic right now - and so is this exceptional property.
