Harry Potter, but not on screen or in the United Kingdom: "A magical new land is about to take shape," announces Legoland, a park primarily designed for children. And where exactly? Right in the heart of Bavaria. For fans of the globally acclaimed Harry Potter series, this promises to be a genuine highlight coming to the amusement park in Günzburg.
As the officials explain in a press release, visitors can look forward to "a magical blend of creativity, wizardry, and playful fun." What makes it special is that it will be the "first LEGO® Harry Potter Land and the first Harry Potter themed accommodation." For the first time, such a resort will "unite the magic of Hogwarts™ with the creativity of LEGO bricks in a completely new adventure."
This new theme world is set to be developed over the next three years. According to information from SWR, Mayor Gerhard Jauernig is also excited about the project and the prospect that it will attract even more visitors to the region between Ulm and Augsburg through this unique attraction.
It has now been over 24 years since the first film of the beloved fantasy series premiered in cinemas, achieving enormous success that continues to this day. This makes the news especially exciting for local residents, who can soon look forward to experiencing the adventures of young witches and wizards at Legoland. And it’s not just the theme park itself - plans apparently also include a hotel styled after Harry Potter.
Critical voices concerning author J. K. Rowling
As much as Harry Potter fans cherish the story of the young wizard, the dangerous Lord Voldemort, and the many other characters, the author of the seven books, J. K. Rowling, has faced intense criticism in recent years - and not without reason. The 60-year-old author made headlines and caused uproar with her transphobic statements.
This is also why the news has sparked mixed emotions among Instagram users. For example, one person wrote, "Great, sending money to JK Rowling so she can continue to produce more queerphobic nonsense." Another commented, "Isn’t this all a bit stale by now?…" Despite this, the majority of reactions under the Instagram post remain positive regarding the announcement.
