FISCHBACHAU - A tragic workplace accident occurred in Bavaria, resulting in the death of a man. Police investigations are currently underway.

On Saturday, the 29th November 2025, a serious workplace accident occurred during private construction work in the Bavarian municipality of Fischbachau. Pallets of bricks fell from the fork of a crane onto a 50-year-old man, causing fatal injuries. He died at the scene. The Rosenheim Criminal Police are now investigating the circumstances of the accident.

According to a press release from the Oberbayern Süd Police Headquarters on Sunday morning (30th November 2025), the Integrated Control Center (ILS) was notified of the accident at a construction site in Hundham, a district of Fischbachau, on Saturday morning. In addition to the emergency medical service, police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. Despite resuscitation efforts, the emergency doctor was unable to save the 50-year-old man, who died at the site, the police continued in their statement regarding the tragic incident.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Duty Unit (KDD) in Rosenheim have therefore taken over the investigation from the Miesbach Police Department, assuming responsibility for the case on behalf of the criminal police. According to current findings, the 50-year-old had attempted to load pallets of bricks with a crane at his private construction site shortly after 8 a.m. when the heavy load fell from several meters high off the crane’s hook and struck him. The accident site, the crane, and its control elements were secured by the Criminal Investigation Duty Unit for further examination. So far, the criminal police emphasize that there is no indication of third-party involvement or any technical defects related to the accident. The victim’s relatives have been supported by a crisis intervention team.
