Großbritannien - A British man fails the driving theory test an astonishing 128 times, costing him a small fortune.

In the UK, an exceptionally persistent learner driver is making headlines: according to the AA Driving School, part of the British automobile club „The AA,“ the young man has attempted the theory driving test 128 times and failed every single time.

The AA Driving School has analyzed official statistics to determine how many times some learner drivers have to retake their tests before passing successfully.

Each attempt at the theory test costs £23 in the United Kingdom. With 128 attempts, one learner driver has already wasted £2.944 into the process. Another candidate needed 75 tries, paying £1.725 in total. The costly issue: driving lessons and the practical test must also be paid for.

It is difficult to specify exactly how much a learner driver spends on lessons and the practical exam, as prices vary across the UK depending on the day of the week and region.

In Germany, according to the ADAC, obtaining a driver’s license costs approximately €2.500 in the best-case scenario.
