Bamberg - Two violent incidents around the Lagarde site are currently keeping the Bamberg criminal police busy: first, a 16-year-old was robbed; the next day, his father sought revenge.

On Friday, a 16-year-old was walking on Lorenz-Krapp-Straße in Bamberg when he encountered a group of acquaintances on the fourth floor of the local parking garage. As he attempted to leave the garage via the stairwell, a 14-year-old allegedly approached him from behind, wrapped his arm around the 16-year-old’s neck, and choked him until he lost consciousness. Another 14-year-old suspect is accused of punching and kicking the victim. Afterwards, the youths reportedly snatched a waist bag containing the 16-year-old’s personal belongings. The Bamberg Criminal Police are investigating the case as a robbery.

On Saturday afternoon, the father of the robbed 16-year-old took it upon himself to look for youths he suspected might be connected to the crime. He reportedly encountered two teenagers, whom he allegedly led into a room in a car repair workshop and held there for over an hour. During this time, he is said to have beaten and strangled the two and threatened one of them with a meat skewer to extract information. The workshop owner ended the situation by ejecting all parties from the premises. The police were not notified initially. Given the suspected course of events, investigations are being conducted on grounds of hostage-taking.

Later that evening, around 9:30 p.m., another incident occurred on Lorenz-Krapp-Straße. The 16-year-old’s father is said to have threatened several people he believed were involved in the assault on his son. He allegedly pointed a blank-firing gun at a group of individuals. A physical altercation reportedly broke out, prompting witnesses to call the police. According to current findings, no shots were fired. Patrol officers detained the man temporarily in the vicinity. An arrest warrant on charges of hostage-taking was issued against him but was suspended under certain conditions.

Throughout the week, the police secured evidence and analyzed video footage as part of extensive investigations. The Bamberg Criminal Police, under the direction of the Bamberg Public Prosecutor’s Office, is leading the inquiries into these incidents, supported by personnel from the Bamberg City Police Station.
