According to a press release, an unusual incident occupied the police on the A1 heading towards Dortmund on Monday morning: A witness reported a vehicle driving erratically at around 10:30 a.m. No one expected the cause behind it.
According to the witness, the Ford repeatedly veered dangerously close to leaving the road at around 140 km/h. A truck even had to move onto the hard shoulder to avoid a collision. When the witness drove past the car, he identified the likely cause of the swerving: both the driver and the passenger apparently felt the need to make the journey more exciting and were “obviously engaging in sexual intercourse,” according to the police press release.
The witness then alerted the police, who stopped the vehicle shortly thereafter on the premises of a gas station on Steinfurter Straße in Münster. The 37-year-old driver and his 33-year-old passenger were checked there. The driver’s spontaneous joyride ended abruptly, and criminal proceedings were initiated against him for dangerous interference with road traffic.
