On August 29, it's that time of year again: the Nuremberg Autumn Fair opens its doors. Until September 14, visitors can expect nothing less than "a paradise for those who love thrilling rides, culinary delights, and exciting experiences!" as stated on the event's website. This year, the organizer promises a premiere as well.
Manitou, action center hullabaloo, super slide and more
With names like "Manitu," "Action Center Remmi Demmi," "Das rollende Glückshaus," "Superrutsche," "Feuersteins Reise," and "Bungee Jumper," there's something for both young and old once again this year. "From thrilling roller coasters to speedy carousels and nostalgic attractions, there's an adrenaline rush for everyone," it states. Those who feel hungry or are there primarily for the culinary experience will find everything from hearty treats to sweet delights to please the discerning palate. Additionally, visitors can look forward to a premiere this year.
First appearance at the folk festival
"For the very first time, the Nuremberg Folk Festival invites you to the 'Volksfest Afterwork'—a new concept designed for companies, colleagues, friend groups, and teams looking to spend their evening in a unique atmosphere," the announcement states, with organizers promising "effortless fun with a strong sense of community." Tuesday, September 9, is dedicated entirely to team spirit. The 'Volksfest Afterwork' will take place across the entire festival ground, with various venues participating. It is an event that consciously focuses on "valuing employees, teamwork, and fostering togetherness within the urban society."
A colorful program on offer
After the official beer tapping on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 6 PM, the festivities continue on August 31 with a specially curated program for those too young for a pint. On Children's Day, the fairground is dedicated entirely to the youngest visitors. "A day full of wonder and experiences where children's hearts race and unforgettable memories are made," the website states. Face painting, glitter tattoos, a mascot parade, and a creative workshop are part of the program.
"Pink Monday" on September 1 has become a staple of the Nuremberg festival and a highlight for the queer community. This year, for the first time, Pink Monday will be held on two Mondays in the new, atmospheric location "Das Stadl." There, everyone can expect "an evening full of good vibes, cool drinks, and the finest DJ sounds – perfect for celebrating with friends, new acquaintances, or simply with all who love diversity and the joy of life."
On September 2, there is a Senior Afternoon. "Every Tuesday from 2 PM, we warmly invite all people over 65 to our new location at Stadl," informs the organizer. Offers include a 1.00 Euro discount on coffee, cake, non-alcoholic drinks, and beer. Additionally, prizes can be won in a raffle.
"Whether Batman and Spiderman with their superpowers, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel in their sparkling dresses, Ariel with her mysterious marine magic, or Super Mario and the adorable heroes of Paw Patrol" – all these characters and more await visitors on Superhero and Moviestars Day. On September 2, there is also the opportunity to take pictures with these beloved figures.
September 3 and 10 are Family Days. Between 2 PM and 9 PM, vendors at the fairground offer at least one exclusive deal at half price. "From delicious treats to exciting games and beautiful souvenirs – everyone will find the perfect highlight here."
On September 5, alongside the Night of Lights, a fireworks display is planned. Nostalgia, elegance, and engineering craftsmanship – all this comes alive at the classic car parade on September 13, starting at 2 PM.
